Bike Farm, Portland OR

I love the bike farm!

They are like Our Community Bikes in Vancouver. They have bike stands, but they teach you how to do the work yourself. I had a chain and gears that I knew I needed to replace. In Vancouver, they had recommended that I get some more wear out of them, and they sent me the best wiki ever. It has all the community bikes stores and other great bikology!

A women's resource centre collective.

Today I got the opportunity to hang out with some really awesome people. They are starting a women's collective and feminisst book store.
Bartley Bears Book Collective

I was their first customer, well sort of. I had to insist upon paying. I had juice, m&m's and sat in the sun playing chess or rather sort of learning how. Meki (I think I have that correct, I'm not quite sure) is starting the place up. When she was younger she suffered physical abuse from men and wanted to set up a safe place, community and a place of new beginnings for Women who have gone through the same. She is altogether lovely and my prayers go to her. They are still trying to set up their shop/ gathering area, they had just bought some chairs that day. Her mission is lovely and she will need encouragement, wisdom and customers to keep her collective the place of her vision.

Occupy Tacoma is still an occupy!

I got to stop by Occupy Tacoma and see their tent occupy. But I was running late, my 2 hour ride took 4 hours, light was fast fading and my mother was expecting me.

I did hand out some Occupy Bellingham pins Tee gave me. They also told me LA is still running.

Occupy Bellingham

fireplace

I got hooked up with Occupy Bellingham people. I am staying with some great old hippies!

I got to attend the GA, got to know a bit about what was up and let them know about some of the stuff Vancouver has done. They currently are attending city counsel meetings just to let me know them know they are still around and giving out occupy buttons. They liked how Occupy Vancouver occupied the court house, they had thought of doing it.
